Venue for the scientific programme

The lectures are organized at the University Campus in Mediteknia auditorium MD100 (occupancy 234). The auditorium is air-conditioned and is the best equipped auditorium in the campus (new AV systems). The auditorium entrance is from a university cafe but as the café is closest June, we can use the space for poster presentations. Right outside of MD100 there is a park with lake views (and beach volley courts!). University restaurant is still open in June and is one level up and about 50 meters from the auditorium. Notable is that the Spring term in Finnish universities end in May, and June is slow in the campus providing excellent opportunity for this type of special courses. Because the spring term is over and the main organizer is affiliated with UEF, there is great availability for rooms that can be used for small group work/discussions (practicals) within and around Mediteknia building.

Accommodation

Please note, accommodation is NOT included in the registration. However, we do recommend participants to book accommodation in the reserved conference hotel detailed below. This will maximize interaction between the participants during the week!

We have placed a preliminary reservation to host 100 people in the Scandic Hotel Kuopio, June 7-12, 2026 (Stay at Scandic Kuopio - Hotel in Kuopio). The hotel is by the main lake (Lake Kallavesi) and ~3 km away from the auditorium and easily accessible by buses every 30 minutes. At Scandic Kuopio, the experiential nature and hospitality of the region combine with great charm. The hotel is located less than 1 km away from the main city square. Breakfast is included in the accommodation price.
